I have lived in Sarasota County for the last 25 years. I have a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock and a Master’s in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. I started teaching at SLA in November of 2021 and have been fortunate to be a part of the school from a parent perspective since 2016.
Prior to teaching in 2021, I worked for Sarasota County Governement in Libraries and Historical Resources. I have two amazing children who have both been a part of the SLA family and are currently attending Venice High School. When not doing teacher work, I enjoy spending time with my family, soccer, reading, and being outside.
When teaching, my goal is to create a challenging and encouraging learning environment. I want my students to experience a sense of inquiry and success, while viewing themselves as valued members of the classroom community.
